shifting of our home?

we recently shifted our srishti campus from yelahanka to the new mahe blr campus. it’s gorgeous, new and a fresh start but it’s not home yet. i don’t know the nooks and corners and don’t have a story hidden in every room.

while I was only in the old campus for five months, it always felt welcoming, worn, used and messy; in a way that we could mess it up further and it wouldn’t make a difference. the new campus is so pristine and clean that we feel the need to be extra cautious and careful as to not mess it up.

yelahanka was such a huge part of all our assignments, “need inspiration: go out and live sketch for an hour” “go talk to the locals and ask questions”,”walk barefoot on the road and tell me what you feel”,”find a small business owner and design a product for her” “record the noise and code with it” and so on.

from our daily spending at a to z and morning walks to campus where we discussed how much we slept the night before and what happened in the eight hours we didn’t see each other. getting our last minute stationary and having daily coconut water. not only did we shift campus, we shifted lifestyles. from walking up at 8.45 and still making it to college on time to waking up at 7.30 and not having time to shower. days became longer and how?! routines became unfamiliar and how?!

the new campus also brings it’s advantages, being able to see my seniors and other course friends more often and interact with them and their work more regularly. it’s already kinda srishti in the way they’ve set it up. it’s beginning to get messy and chaotic in a way we thrive and adore.

it may not be our home yet but it can be the one away from it.

hope you’re doing well!

i appreciate u < 3

lot’s of love
